OMAHA, Neb. - After a win in its home opener, the IUPUI softball team heads to the road for three games to kick off its Summit League slate. The Jags are scheduled to play Omaha in a double header on Friday (Mar. 25) and a single game on Saturday (Mar. 26).

IUPUI - (10-16)

The Jags won their last game against UIC 6-1 in the home opener for the Jags. Brooke Boetjer and Nickole Finch were solid in the circle for the Jags only giving up six hits and one run against the Flames. Offensively, IUPUI got a two-run home run from Ali Mosier and a solo shot from Maggie Good.

Roni Patterson continues to lead the way for the Jags at the plate. The junior, who went 1-2 against UIC, leads the team with a .333 average. Patterson also leads the team in home runs with four, is tied for the lead with two triples, and is second on the team with 17 RBI. Morgan Schlobohm (.318), Kaitlynn Moody (.314), Taylor Chitwood (.308) and Delilah Wright (.300) are all batting over .300 for the Jags. Chitwood is the leader in RBI for the Jags (20) and along with Mosier are second on the team with three home runs.

Boetjer has been solid for the Jags after some early year struggles and is the leader of the pitching staff for head coach Amanda Rivera. Boetjer (6-7) has made 11 starts and thrown complete games in seven of those starts. In 78.2 innings this year, Boetjer has a 3.11 ERA to go along with 54 strikeouts and has only walked 25 batters. Behind Boetjer, Finch has started to pitch strong heading in to conference. Finch has recorded two saves in the last three games, throwing well in relief. Finch carries a 2-2 record and a 5.97 ERA in 34 innings.

Omaha - (12-19)

The Maverics come in to the weekend series having lost two straight and five of the last six. Omaha does hold a 5-3 advantage against the Jags in the all-time series but the Jags have taken the last two against the Mavs, sweeping a double header last year.

Offensively the Jags are led by Sydney Hames who boasts a .359 average. Hames seven doubles leads the team and her seven home runs and 24 RBI are both second the team. Nicole Warren leads the Mavericks with eight home runs and 26 RBI.

In the circle, Laura Roecker has been the go to pitcher for the Mavs, making 18 starts on the season. Roecker (6-9) has a team best 5.68 ERA, and has 46 strikeouts in 88.2 innings. Behind Roecker is Abbie Clanton (5-7, 6.13 ERA) and Lizzie Noble (1-3, 6.81 ERA).
