Here is a quick look at what events are taking place on campus to celebrate Valentine's Day. Students can attend these events solo, with their friends or with their sweetheart.
Alpha Omicron Charter Valentine’s Day Fundraiser
The Alpha Omicron Charter of Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority is hosting a Valentine’s Day Fundraiser on Feb. 13 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Campus Center at information table five. They will be selling artificial roses, chocolate, small teddy bears, customized letters and heart-shaped boxes. You can RSVP for this event on Alpha Omicron’s page on the Spot, although you do not have to RSVP to attend.
Student African American Sisterhood (SAAS) Candy Gram Pickup
SAAS will be selling candy grams. Rates are $1 for a message, $3 for a message and candy bag and $5 for a message, candy bag and small gift. The last day to purchase is Feb. 12, and you can find the form on the SAAS Instagram. Pick up of SAAS candy grams will be at the Campus Center information table six on Feb. 13 from 10:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Campus Center information table five on Feb. 15, also from 10:30 a.m.- 4 p.m..
University College Student Council (UCSC) Speed Dating
UCSC will be hosting a Speed Dating night on Feb. 13 from 3-5 p.m. in the Campus Center theater (CE 002). Per their Instagram, they will be offering Valentine’s goodie bags and games like Speed Dating by Elimination and Speed Dating by Red Flags. To sign up, there is a link to the form on their Instagram.
Undergraduate Women in Science (UWIS) and IUPUI Girl Gains Galentine’s Day
The Undergraduate Women in Science student organization and IUPUI Girl Gains will be hosting a Galentine’s day event on Feb. 13 from 7-9 p.m. in CE 240 where they will have activities and snacks. Anyone is able to attend, and they recommend bringing friends along.
African Student Association (ASA) Valentine’s Day Tabling
On Feb. 14 from 12-3 p.m. at the Campus Center tables, ASA will be fundraising for their ASA Night in April by selling small goodie bags containing chocolate and information about ASA. This is a free event for all IUPUI students.
Delta Sigma Phi and Phi Gamma Delta Valentine’s Day Flower Handout
On Feb. 14, both Delta Sigma Phi (a fraternity centered on helping members become better versions of themselves and making a positive impact) and Phi Gamma Delta (a fraternity at IUPUI that promotes personal responsibility and its core values of friendship, knowledge, service, morality and excellence) will be handing out flowers. Delta Sigma Phi will be in Taylor Hall from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and Phi Gamma Delta will be in the Kelley building in the orange space from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. These are free events.
Biology Club Love, Plants, & Darwin sale
Biology Club will be hosting a Love, Plants, & Darwin event on Feb. 14 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the SL/DL Lobby where they will be selling cut flowers such as roses and carnations, in addition to many other new plants. Although the event itself is free, you do have to pay to purchase the plants.
