There was no question who should win WNBA Rookie of the Year when records were broken and history was made by one of the nation’s most popular athletes. Clark received 66 out of 67 votes for this award.

Clark finished the season with the most points, assists, and 3-point field goals made by a rookie in WNBA history. She finished the season with 769 points, 337 assists, and 122 3-point field goals made. Her 3-point field goals made are the second-most all-time and the most by a rookie, while becoming the fastest player to reach 300 career assists.

She is the only player to record more than 750 points, 300 assists, and 200 rebounds in any 40-game span.

Not only did she make WNBA rookie history with most points in a season, but she also recorded the most points in a season in Fever franchise history.

Clark also finished the season averaging 19.2 points per game, 5.7 rebounds per game, and led the league with 8.4 assists per game. She ranked third in rebounds per game by a rookie. Her 8.4 assists per game made her become only the third player to average over 8 assists per game in a single season. She is the first rookie in WNBA history to ever lead the league in the assist per game and three-points made per game categories.

Although most know Clark for her long-range shots, she made a name for herself with her passing this season. She led the WNBA in assists, becoming the youngest player to do so, and had 19 assists in one game, which was the most assists in a game in WNBA history.

Another record to showcase the all around player that Clark was, she became the first rookie to record a triple-double in WNBA history. Not only did she set this record, but she recorded two of them. Along with her triple doubles, she set a Fever franchise record for three-points made, points scored, and double-doubles. She totaled eight 20-point, 10-assist games, which was the most in a single season.

She was Rookie of the Month four times and three time Eastern Conference Player of the Week. This season she also had the most all-star game votes in league history.

Outside of her personal achievements, Clark also made a difference for her team. She led the Indiana Fever to their first 20-win season since 2015, while also helping them to their first playoff appearance since 2016. She also led the Fever to franchise records in points, assists, and three-points made per game, making her the third Rookie of the Year for the franchise, joining Tamika Catchings in 2002, and going back-to-back with Aliyah Boston who won in 2023.

Clark’s successful season is just the start of the greatness to come. Her skills have helped create a legacy that will continue on with her time with the Fever and her career.
